Situated in the North of Fuerteventura with good access to a variety of different windsurfing beaches, Corralejo is a hot destination all year round for windsurfers and sunbathers alike.
Moderate north easterly trade winds are combined with a natural wind acceleration effect producing consistent summer winds ranging from F4 up to as much as F8! Winter winds are somewhat different and come across the Atlantic resulting in slightly less reliable and extreme conditions varying from light breezes to gale force. Winter also tends to bring the waves to the island so surfing is also a popular pastime on the island should the wind not be blowing.
Whilst not strictly necessary in Fuerte, we recommend car hire in order to visit the various beaches all around the island. Corralejo itself has plenty of bars and restaurants all within walking distance for your enjoyment and off the water.

Centre, Courses & Kit
The Centre
The windsurfing school is situated on Flag Beach and will transport you to the relevant beach of the day depending on your level. Beginners usually begin at El Cotillo in a large enclosed teaching lagoon to master the basics, in a safe environment, before venturing out onto the open sea. Intermediate and advanced sailors will receive tuition on the sea, usually at Flag Beach, but always depending on the local conditions on the day.
The centre is fully equipped and staffed by a team of English speaking international instructors who will be happy to get you started on the right path or to help you complete that dynamic move you have been trying.
