The Kitesurfing
The Kitesurfing
The small village of Famara found in the North West corner of Lanzarote is the best place to locate yourself for an epic week’s kitesurfing and waveriding.
The kitesurfing in Famara is in a huge bay that runs from the ft of El Risco, an impressive mountain ridge, to La Santa 2 kms downwind. The bay is shallow for the first 30 ft so you will find a small shore break before heading out over well spaced waves that get bigger and bigger until you are out back and into rolling swell. Experienced riders will love it here as the conditions can be challenging!
The wind is from the north east, so side-shore – we suggest that you ride from about half way down the bay as it can be a bit gusty if you are riding in the shadow of El Risco.
