Our holidays are based in the small resort of Cabarete on the island’s north shore, just 20 minutes from the airport. Due to its location, aspect and local topography, it has a deserved reputation for offering some of the best and most reliable kitesurfing and windsurfing conditions in the world. Combine this with a charming village, offering a unique atmosphere of laid-back hip mixed with a little adventure sports adrenaline and you have a resort which scores highly in all categories.

The beaches are just glorious; with over 4 kilometres to explore, Cabarete beach has the longest stretch of uninterrupted sand on the Island. The natural conditions of the coral-protected bay make it perfect for windsurfers, whilst outside the bay kitesurfers are spoilt for choice with several great spots to choose from.

The town reflects the laid-back and cool attitude of the water sports enthusiast. Getting about is an easy affair as the cabs are inexpensive and the town centre,  in the main bay, easily accessible even if staying a little further out towards Encuentro Beach. There is a party atmosphere in town, with the strains of salsa music emanating from the bars as you try your hand at dancing the merengue aided by the friendly locals!  So, after a day out on the water or a hectic day on the beach sun-bathing who could be blamed for enjoying a few light mojitos or beers into the small hours!
