Egypt Kitesurfing Holidays

With its beautiful weather, turquoise water and consistent year-round winds, Egypt is one of the world’s top destinations for kitesurfing and windsurfing holidays. We offer 7 resorts, each offering a different combination of wind and water conditions, there is a summary below for a quick guide to help you find the right resort.

The shallow, clear waters of the Red Sea makes many Egyptian resorts ideal destinations for diving or snorkelling. Another major attraction is the ability to combine a beach holiday with some sightseeing – day excursions to Luxor and the Valley of the Kings can be arranged from resorts on the Red Sea coast or you can add on a couple of days in Cairo to see the museums and pyramids.

Egypt is easily accessed by a good range of flights from the UK and there are plenty of hotels to choose from. This makes it one of the more desirable and affordable destinations for kiters and other watersports enthusiasts.

Within Egypt, destinations include larger towns such as Hurghada and Sharm-el-Sheikh, private resort communities such as El Gouna and Soma Bay or smaller towns such as Dahab. Egypt caters for all, be it families, couples, solo travellers or groups. Give us a call and we will be happy to put together a trip to the perfect spot for you.

In short, here in the UK we are really lucky to have some of the best kitesurfing on the planet just a few hours away, with so many flight options it’s a fantastic, flexible destination with some of the best wind stats – we love it and are sure you will too!

Quick summary of our Egyptian resorts:

El Gouna- Accessible, affordable and incredible kiting with a great range of hotels. A great choice for families, singles and groups with non kiters.

Hurghada- Great wind, great kitesurfing & great partying!

Safaga- Kiting and windsurfing on the same beach & local islands to kite to and from.

Sharm El Sheikh/Nabq- All-inclusive hotels, great kitesurf school and a shallow, flat water lagoon with year round wind stats & world class diving.

Abu Soma- Kiting, windsurfing, diving, SUP, wakeboarding & waterskiing. Add to that a fabulous hotel that’s great for families and you’ve got a fantastic all round watersports holiday spot.

Dahab- Windsurfing heaven, fantastic kiting, friendly town, incredible diving and a bohemian atmosphere. A great range of accommodation from 5* designer hotels to more modest B&B’s.

RAMADAN
Ramadan is an annual holy festival that takes place in 2012 from 20 July to 18 August. From sunrise to sunset the faithful abstain from eating, drinking and smoking which means things happen at a slower pace. If you are visiting at this time you should be respectful of the fasting and keep public consumption to a minimum. It is also a good time to dress a little conservatively and a good time to learn to say ‘Happy Ramadan’ as this is appreciated by the locals.
