Abu Soma is on the eastern shores of the Red Sea to the north of the town of Safaga, approximately 45 kilometres from Hurghada airport.

This is an attractive part of the coast which overlooks the spectacular Soma Bay as well as a scenic range of hills.

The main property here is the Intercontinental, a spacious 5 star hotel with its own beach and attractive landscaped grounds. With an excellent pool complex and entertainments laid on in the evenings, this is a great place for a relaxing family holiday.

The hotel has a small watersports centre offering kitesurfing, windsurfing and dinghy sailing, and there is an independent windsurf & kite centre a 5 minute walk upwind.

There is no ‘resort’, or town as such at Abu Soma – so a stay here is about enjoying the hotel, its facilities and the water.
