The main property here is the newly renamed Palm Royale Resort, previously known as the Intercontinental. It’s a very spacious 5* hotel with its own beach, attractive landscaped grounds and an excellent ‘cave style’ pool complex that youngsters (and grown ups) will love to explore.

 The Palm Royale is great for families and has a kids club, children’s pools & play area with babysitting that can be booked locally.

 The hotel has direct beach access and there is a long-established & independent watersports centre adjacent to the hotel. Here you will find all the latest boards, rigs and kites for your enjoyment right on the waters edge.

 There is also a separate watersports centre located in the resort itself – here you can book diving trips, dinghy sailing and even SUP sessions in the event of no wind. There is even a large boat that operates as a base for kitesurfing in the far reaches of the bay, where no one else can get to, offering some of the least crowded kiting in the Red Sea – a great option for freeriders who enjoy a little more space.  The Palm Royale resort really is that – a self contained resort, and as such there is no ‘resort’ or town as such at Abu Soma so a stay here is about enjoying the hotel, its facilities and the great watersports on offer. It is possible, however, to take a taxi into Hurghada or Safaga for a night or day out.
