Dahab was the place where it all started for water sports enthusiasts hunting for warm waters and constant winds. Just an hour transfer from Sharm el Sheikh it’s easy to see why it’s a favourite spot for photo shoots, equipment reviews, winter training and guru clinics.

The resort offers a different take on the typical Egyptian resort and is generally a slower type of beach holiday.  With a small collection of hotels on the northern side of the bay providing a nice beach promenade lined with windsurf centres,  you’ll never be too far away from your hotel if you want to nip back to your room for something.

Made up of a big crescent-shaped sandy bay, Dahab is lined with 3 to 5 star hotels to suit all budgets. While the resort is action packed when on the water, with freestyle, slalom and wave riding all on your doorstep, the mood on the beach is chilled and tranquil, with several terrace bars overlooking the lagoon for the obligatory post-sailing sun-downer. If you crave some action off the water then it’s easy to jump into a taxi and head to the small town of Masbat, a few minutes ride  away. Here you’ll find a host of restaurants, bars and a couple of night clubs in which to blow off steam once the sun has gone down.

If you’d like to spend a day under, rather than on top of the water, Dahab couldn’t be a more perfect place to be as it is consistently voted as one of the best dive spots in the world and home to the infamous Blue Hole. Here you will see colourful reef life and the silver bubble trail of submerged scuba divers and practicing free divers disappearing into the depths for an unbelievable length of time.
