Safaga is a small area of resort hotels on the eastern shores of the Red Sea, to the north of the town of Safaga. It is approximately 45 kms from Hurghada airport and is an attractive part of the coast overlooking the spectacular Soma Bay as well as a scenic range of hills.

The small bay is lined with a small number of resort hotels, two of which, the Shams and Shams Imperial, lead straight onto an excellent watersports beach with kitesurfing at one end and windsurfing at the other. Each hotel has its own centre, and packages allowing you to do both sports are available.

There is no ‘resort’ or town as such, at Safaga, so a stay here is about enjoying the hotel, its facilities and the water.
