For locals, Zaafarana consists of an hotel set in the middle of desert terrain that is used as a rest stop for those who are going to visit the nearby monasteries of St. Anthony and St. Paul. For us, this is a remote, secluded piece of board riding heaven!

From beginners to freestylers there is something to suit all. Just in front of the centre is a huge, shallow flat water zone, ideal for learning and improving your freestyle tricks, while further upwind there is a more exposed zone with stronger winds and potentially some rolling swell, which is ideal for freeriders.

Our centre is right on the beach and near to the lagoon area.  The beach is long, sandy and uncrowded which beginners will really appreciate and, with its famously constant wind conditions, it is a perfect spot for kite & windsurfing of all levels.

There is just one moderate hotel located here.  Being so secluded, it lacks a few ‘creature comforts’, but this is soon forgotten as the watertime in Zaafarana will not disappoint! Evenings are a chilled out affair and a time to meet at the casual bar and re-live the thrill of the day’s events.
