Morocco is a great year-round destination which offers an attractive combination of sunshine, wind, waves and cultural experience.

It is easy to get to Morocco from the UK, just a 3.5 hour flight, so it works well for a shorter break, or a week away without jet lag.  Despite the short journey, as soon as you get off the plane you know you are in Africa – the distinctive colours and flavours make it seem a world away from home.

The local population is young (55% of the population is under 25) and friendly - stopping to talk to people is a great way to get to know the country. If someone tries to sell you a carpet, just smile, say no thanks and move on – unless you want to a buy a carpet that is!

If you are heading to Essaouira for a beach holiday it is easy to add a night or two in Marrakech to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the souks, or take a day trip to the Atlas Mountains.
