Dakhla base camp has to be one of the most spectacular and unique spots for kitesurfing and windsurfing that we offer. You are right in the middle of the Sahara desert, surrounded by a 25km flat water lagoon with views that are simply breathtaking and just 20 kilometres away from Dakhla Airport. With warm temperatures year round and constant winds, Dakhla is a great place for learning and advancing your kitesurfing and windsurfing skills while the more advanced freeriders can enjoy perfect wave spots.

You accommodation is comprised of a set of tents and small ‘bungalow’ type structures scattered along the lagoon. While they both offer modest yet adequate facilities for such a remote spot, Waveriders only recommend the bungalows, as they come complete with private facilities, electricity and showers. Food at the camp is actually quite tasty with lots of fresh fish, salads and traditional Moroccan tagines and cous cous to sample. Evenings are a low key affair as most people simply relax around the bar area and re-live the excitement of the day.

Due to flight connections you may have to overnight in the colourful city of Casablanca before catching your intineral flight on the Dakhla.
