The largest resort on the Algarve, Albufeira is a great place to be even when you’re not out on the water, with something for virtually every taste. As a large town, there is a myriad of streets and alleys all with hidden bars and restaurants, from small traditional Portuguese restaurants through to sports and Irish bars to enjoy late into the evening. Albufeira is only 30 minutes drive from Faro airport, and is surrounded by golden sandy beaches.

The sun shines here all year, and even in the depths of January the weather generally stays above 15C. In the summer, however, the temperatures sit in the high 20s and are made incredibly pleasant by the smooth Atlantic winds that are boosted by the heat in the middle of the day.
