The Kitesurfing

Kitesurfing on Coche takes place at a spit of land at one end of the beach, where the wind blows directly off-shore. You can choose to kite from either side of the spit; the on-shore side is choppier and less busy, whilst the off-shore side makes for amazing flat water conditions and you can tack pretty much the length of the beach. There is a rescue boat for anyone that can’t make it upwind back to the beach on the off-shore side, however you need to have money on you to get a lift back in.

You have the amazing set up here where you can just stroll out of your hotel and in 10 minutes have your kite pumped up and be out on the water. From late December to May Coche gets the trade winds that start early in the day and increase as the day gets hotter. Year in year out this region has been consistently windy and so is a favourite of many.

The Centre

The kitesurfing centre on Coche is directly in front of the Coche Paradise Hotel, right on the beachfront and is a satellite centre from the main one in El Yaque. As much as lessons and support are available, they do tend to change structure so on this particular occasion we would suggest you call us for more details.

The Courses

Below is an outline of the current course structure at this centre.

6 hour – IKO Level 1 – £175
10 hour IKO Level 1 and 2 – £260*
6 hour – IKO Level 2 – £175
10 hour IKO Level 2 and 3 – £260

*We recommend that you upgrade to the 10 hour IKO level1 & 2 course as in our experience 6 hours is not long enough to get to grips with the key kitesurfing skills.

Private lessons – £69 per hour
